A wonderful veterinarian experience! I recommend The Family Pet. The doctor was kind and informative. I am confident my two kittens, Merlin & Arthur, are getting the best care.

I am so grateful for everyone at Family Pet who all take such good care of my two chihuahuas, Maya and Saffron. Doctor Jenna Chavez truly takes extra time to consider all of our concerns and offer counsel and care. She recently put our worries at ease for Saffron's collapsing trachea and I know she is always there to answer any questions I have. She lets me know I am never a bother. All of the techs do a great job with our regular nail trims, most notably Gavin, and manage Maya's feisty demeanor with grace. And Most Honorable Mention goes to Christa; she does a fantastic job manning the front desk, the phone lines, and countless other tasks with great care. We always hope Christa will be there to greet us when we come through the door!

I brought my cat in for recent loss of vision. Two consecutive appointments in two days with Dr. Jenna Chavez, and I left both times with nothing accomplished. The first visit was a superficial physical exam, after which I was told the actual diagnostic tests couldn’t be performed because it was too late in the day. I was charged for the visit and asked to come back. The second appointment ended the same way: your cat is too stressed for the tests and it’s too late in the day for sedation, come back another time. The crazy part is that I made both appointments with their guidance. As if my time has no value and my cat’s pain and stress can simply wait. My cat is blind. Every unnecessary vet visit compounds her anxiety and trauma. Not only did Jenna Chavez ignore how her inability to honor appointment commitments directly contributed to that trauma, she even attempted to gaslight me and blame my cat for Jenna Chavez’s professional incompetence in basic animal handling and performing a routine test. The cavalier attitude toward that reality — and toward two wasted appointments — was stunning. At this point I was ready to take my cat to another vet. When I asked for a refund given that no meaningful service was rendered, I was yelled at for “wasting her time”, and received a thinly veiled legal threat — in case you didn’t know, Jenna Chavez’s husband is a lawyer! Apparently in the Chavez household, looking at my cat with her bare eyes and telling me that my blind cat “may not be able to see” without an actual diagnosis constitutes professional service rendered. Unfortunately neither of them seems to understand the Duty of Care, which is no surprise knowing Jenna Chavez received her training at St. George’s University in Grenada (LOL). If you care about your pet’s wellbeing and want your doctor to treat you and your pet with the same level of respect, steer clear of Jenna Chavez. Looking at the clinic’s recent positive reviews, they are either for Dr. Schneider (who is great) or for Jenna Chavez — for successfully euthanizing a pet. The joke writes itself.

Been coming here for 15+ years, have always been treated kindly. I just had a very sick cat, that we had to lay to rest and they were compassionate and kind, treated my cat and I with respect and care. Thank you Dr. Chavez, Gavin and The Whole team.
